Nov 22nd: Advanced glazing workshop with Camila Ruiz - $110

Deepen your understanding of glaze chemistry, layering, and application through this advanced workshop. We will explore the science behind glaze materials and discuss how to refine and troubleshoot results. This workshop is best suited for those with at least basic glazing experience who want to expand their knowledge of the glazing process. This workshop is exciting because it will encourage students to glaze with confidence and to enjoy the process. It will dive into the understanding of how glazes work and why mistakes happen to be able to fix them to avoid compromising a piece.

• Saturday, Nov 22nd, 2025 from 10 AM - 12 PM (2 hours)

• Good for: Anyone who is interested in glazing in general, those who want a deeper understanding of the (basic) chemistry behind the process and those who are "scared" of glazing because the results are not what was expected!

• What to bring: Bisque-fired pieces. If you don’t have any, Hey Clay will provide. All glazes fire to cone 6.

INSTRUCTOR INFO: Camila Ruiz is a ceramics teacher and scientist who is passionate about glazes and the chemistry of glazes and materials. She has taught several glazing workshops including glaze chemistry, underglaze crayons and speckled glazes.
